Village Shaman
Mr Thong Jaynen 73 years old
About 40 years ago he started to farm rice for the family and with a new piece of land over the river outside of the village. He got sick and the family members got sick too. People in the village said that the land had ghosts or some energy that was affecting the family and himself. He decided to learn to be a Shaman to protect himself and the family. He met a teacher from Cambodia from the old traditional to learn how to communicate with other energies, how to use the psychic, invoke energies and to become a trance medium. People now in the village show respect to him as he helps families with children, and other important ceremony times such as new year, protection of the village. If items have been lost such as a cow, a person, or other important issues that are related to daily life. He is gifted flowers, leaf, candle or incense by each person that asks for his helping service.
